Job Title: Program Coordinator/Administrative Assistant

Responsible to: WCF Board of Directors

Immediate Supervisor: WCF Board President

Status: Flexible, Part-Time Independent Contractor

Approximately 35 hours per month or 8 hours per week

Monthly stipend, rate commensurate with experience

Purpose: To provide support to the Foundation Board and to facilitate fund development and donor relations.


I. Board Relations

A. Assist with Board meetings: preparing agendas and reports, arranging for facilities, communicating with directors and volunteers.
B. Facilitate goal setting and long-term planning.
C. Serve as a liaison between the Wayne Community Foundation, the South Central Iowa Community Foundation and the Iowa Council of Foundations.
D. Identify training opportunities for volunteers and staff and eventually assist with local trainings.

II. Development

A. Actively seek to increase the assets of the WCF and to raise the resources necessary to implement the WCF’s goals, with an emphasis on flexible, long-term and permanent funds.
B. Oversees an annual development plan that engages Board members in asset development and donor relations.
C. Promotes active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of the organization’s work.

III. Public Relations and Communications

A. Develops and implements a communications plan to raise community awareness of the WCF including facilitation of speaking opportunities
B. Prepares news releases and other publications needed to increase public awareness of the WCF.
C. Responsible for Social Media accounts and website maintenance.

IV. Finance and Administration

A. Acts as Executive Assistant to the President and Treasurer
B. Corresponds with donors and beneficiaries.
C. Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Board.

V. Grantmaking and Scholarship

A. Assists the WCF Board with developing and implementing grantmaking programs to meet community needs.
B. Provides program support for granting activities.
C. Provides program support for scholarship selection and distribution.
D. Actively seeks opportunities for collaboration concerning philanthropic activities.

VI. Job Training

A. Participates in trainings as directed by the Board
B. Develops skills for continued personal growth and learning.
