County Endowment Fund Grants

Purpose of the Wayne Community Foundation

The Wayne Community Foundation was established in 1999, to create a permanent tax-exempt entity to receive and distribute funds for the benefit of the Wayne County Community.  The Foundation receives, invests, and disburses funds for any charitable purpose that proves beneficial to the citizens of Wayne County.  Volunteers, serving on the Board of Directors, from all areas of the county administer the Foundation.  Individuals, families, businesses, community organizations, and others may contribute to the Foundation.

The Foundation is an appropriate choice for:

  • Tax-deductible gifts for specific projects or educational enhancement. Memorial contributions. Tax-deductible bequests within a will.
  • Tax-deductible gifts not designated for any specific purpose, but designed to benefit the entire county.

Projects may fall into categories relating to education, charities, literature, the arts and sciences, heritage, or others.

The Foundation Board of Directors is responsible for ensuring that the objectives of the donor are fulfilled, be it a single bequest, or the on-going funding of a special project.  The ultimate objective is to provide an efficient entity to accept and administer funds in the manner prescribed by each donor.
